My cousin filed her application in May 2003 from vermont, the case was shipped to Phil and se got her approval in September 2005.

I think I am in a similar situation with you.Me and my kids are also separated from my wife for almost a year now. It was really a big mistake on my part not to join her on her Embassy interview thinking visas were plentiful.BIG MISTAKE. I was at that time not well informed about visa availability.Our PD is Nov 05 and I am from the Philippines. I do feel what you feel. It is an emotional roller coaster ride. Are you derivative beneficiaries of your wife's Sched A petition and what country are you from? If you dont mind me asking.

Not that I say we need change, but this is a public organization. Everyone has a right to call for election. There is nothing wrong.
Only issue is, whoever wants to contest has to come out with public profile as mentioned by someone before. There are only few people who are openly public and with known real identity on this forum - thats sad!

Ever been a member of a public radio station? to vote or contest in an election you have to be a paid member. Do you think N**usa will entertain you if you go to their website and call for change?

1. The days of an immigrant waiting to buy a house until he gets his GC have gone. These days H1Bs r buying homes left and right. More than settling, they look at it as a business prospect. I know atleast 5 guys who r still waiting in the wings who've bought homes. Look, u know u r gonna wait until GC and u know u will get ur GC...so why not buy a house? There may be a few who'd be pessimistic about their GC applications and wud think twice b4 making a huge investment and AFAIK, that percentage is very less.

With all due respect to the selfless hard work of IV core, I concur with ItIsNotFunny. There are many members who feel this way. IV core should be more open to members. I feel a cloud of secrecy always surrounding IV. Of course they cannot be public about all their activities, but more needs to be done on this front. You will see more members actively participating if core is more open.
I totally agree to this. Everytime i try to bring this point across all that is being asked is go contribue some money. I have contributed money before and i will contribute lot more if i know what it is getting used for.
There are several of my friends who are not actively looking at IV site. I am sure they will contribute money if they know the initiative IV is currently working on.

What the USCIS has done today is what they call "Locking the stables AFTER the horse has bolted" ;)
What a bunch of idiots, i swear this is WORSE than ANY of our home countries. Like I told my friend yesterday, atleast if the USCIS call center was based in India, the answers would have been consistent. They may have all been Wrong, but atleast they would be consistent.
This is going to drag forever. Now, the USCIS will surely get investigated, as they approved some applications without FBI check complete....bunch of idiots in fact. I wonder when Chertoff will resign.....

If anybody thinks that he can file a lawsuit against EB3 to EB2 porting , and he will win , I am pretty sure he is wrong , He is just talking from his heart.

I think we will see a renewed activity on IV forums in 2009. I still believe visa recapture bill like HR5882 has a good chance of getting passed. It may not get passed in this congress considering how few working days are left and presidential elections in November. But in 2009 the bill should gain new momentum with new congress and new president in office.
Also, by that time EB2 dates will be again retrogressed and those impatiently waiting for their approvals today will be back to support new action items. Please don't take this as spiteful wish against EB2, I'm EB2 myself! Just that I don't think everyone who is current now will get their GC before October 2008. True, once the people realize that they are close to GC they forget all tasks and move on to the other forums (R2I or USC or whatever) there are very few who actually stay on and help add this to the fact that most of the EB3-I's got fed up with the nonsense going on (most were only looking for a sounding board to voice their dismay, instead they were reminded of the caste system). So EB2's stop working because their PD is current and EBs stop because there is little hope/chance/help. We can dissect the VB as much as we want, the fact of the matter is that EB3 as a whole and EB3 (india &China) in particular are screwed big time. There is hope in the Logfren bills but the congress seems to have other 'important' issues to discuss.
We should take the campaign to a new level move from individuals to involving groups and compaines. They have more money and power to make things move. EB3 & EB2 discussions will go on for ever, we can either decide to wallow in our sorrow or do something. Lets identify groups who can help us and write to them. Each EB should talk to his/her HR and ask them to write a letter to their congressman/Senator it will have a bigger impact.

let me ask you this. did anyone from "leadership" call/email/contact you when you were inactive/busy with your life. if the leaders did not call/email you, how will you know if your help is needed. i don't see how its u'r fault

They are also helping on getting other people to help me mobilize members from a state chapter level. The point is the sense of urgency on how we need to move forward together. There is absolutely no room for confusion and I agree when people dont see results, there is always suspicion. But to build an organization from scratch is no easy task, we must recognize that and be respectful of people who do put their time and efforts to make things happen. We all must channelize our energy to making this successful. Everyone has their opinions and I respect that, but I am more interested on hearing solutions if you see there is no progress. Simply asking for change but knowing what change means to all of us will have no takers!

They most of the approvals are of US Master degree and above as it is straight fwd EB2 no need to verify skill set etc..
While I can't speak for all cases out there, I can speak for myself and a few of my friends...Master's degree from US universities - CHECK, green card - NOT YET! (the wait continues).
