I was just pondering on why Madame Pelosi has not woken up from her slumber and acted on the letters that she is recieving . I can count 10 letters from my relatively short memory . Wonder when she will ACT and stop recieving and filing letters . JUST 54 days are left in 2007 . :eek:

From the San Francisco Chronicle: A Concord man was sentenced on Friday to six months in prison and three years of supervised release, for making false statements on 11 applications for high-technology worker visas, United States Attorney Melinda Haag and Patrick Durkin, Special Agent In-Charge of the Diplomatic Security Service announced. Chennupati admitted that between April 1, 2008 and March 3, 2009, he submitted 11 foreign worker petitions to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that contained counterfeit job offer letters from the Gap Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank and Genentech. My husband I-140 receipt notice has a wrong receipt date, instead of june 20 it has july 20 receipt date, the rest of the forms like I-485,Ap has the right receipt date, since he filed for labor substitution receipt date is critical since the deadline was july 16, what should we do anyone has the same situation pls help:confused:

Bill HR 4853 Passed the house. It has already cleared the Senate.

On February 18 and 19, the University of California (Irvine) hosted a symposium where many of U.S. immigration's Rock-Star professors came together to try and solve "Persistent Puzzles in Immigration Law." The topics covered a wide expanse. It's true that Obama is focusing on the economy now, but if we do a massive flower campaign now it will get us press and attention and "loosen" things up, then we can go for a second even bigger flower campaign in the spring and in the summer when the previous flower campaign will still be alive in the public's memory. That way people will say "wait, legals? that's different than illegals, and it sounds serious"
We need to get ourselves noticed! The illegals had Obama on the Hispanic radio show with "Piolin Sotelo" last week. Why aren't we doing anything? We are not cowards, are we? The illegals can but we legals can't?
Let's not stop with the flowers until we're heard. We send this week, then in a couple of months and so forth until they fix the injustice we're in

For years, open-government groups have fought to make the reports public, and for years, many lawmakers have kept them under wraps. Or so they thought.
By insisting on secrecy, Congress instead created a bootleg market for the research. Every day, a small Texas company compiles the reports and sells them to lobbyists, lawyers and others who pay thousands of dollars for a peek at the reports and what they say about the congressional agenda. And it's all legal.
"How I get them is my trade secret . . . but I get them all," said Walt Seager, who digs up the reports for Gallery Watch, a legislative tracking service.
The Congressional Research Service (CRS) was established in 1914 as Congress's supplier of nonpartisan research and analysis. Its reports are neither classified nor copyrighted, but they've long been the exclusive property of lawmakers, who distribute them as they see fit. Taxpayers supply the agency's $100 million annual budget, inspiring open-government groups and some lawmakers, including Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) to push for public release of CRS reports.
Aftergood and others have fought back by posting every CRS report they can find on their Web sites. But watchdog groups have released only about 10 percent of the total, not enough to reveal the patterns that suggest what Congress might do next.
Subscribers to Gallery Watch pay about $4,000 a year to get all the CRS reports, online and searchable, delivered weekly.

Yesterday Congressman Joe Wilson talked to reporters about his claim that the President was lying about immigrants having access to health care subsidies under the President's health care plan. I wonder if more of you have noticed this phenomena: one of your applications gets approved, but the approval doesn't show up on the online case status system.
My AP was approved on Sept 17, 2007 and mailed out to my attorney who got it in a few days and told me about yesterday when I emailed about another issue. Oddly enough, even today (Sept 27), the online case status system shows an LUD of Sept 14 but no approval. I didn't get the usual approval email from the case status system either.
Annoying -- since now I won't learn of new developments till my lawyer calls me up to let me know and you know what slackers they can be. Although all this may be moot since apparently I am stuck waiting for my name check to clear, so there won't be any new developments to look look forward to for a long long time. Sigh. :(

It says, RFE received and case reprocessing started..what does this mean?

Hi Everyone,
I have completed my 6yrs H1-B and currently have 1yr h1-B extension until Jan, 2010. However, my PERM application for Green card was filed on Jan 2008 and is still on hold.
Given the above case can I still transfer my H1-B to a new employer with 3yr extension? I have heard that after the 6yr period H1-B is over sometimes there are cases where 3-yr or new 6yr period H1-B are issued. Can someone advice me whats the best scenario for me?

Hi,
When u use EAD and AP to come back into US, then u loose your H1 status.
About reverting back to H1 from EAD, there are many Ifs and buts. You should have a valid H1 maintained etc. Consult a good attorney.
