Congratulations!
I never had a problem with my immigration status in regards to getting a home loan. In fact, I got approval from 3 banks and I chose the one with lowest interest.
U got lucky as they didnt ask the Immigration status.
For me also they didnt ask me until they are about to approve the loan.
Gave me a scare, but finally all worked out

I have a question about a unique situation of getting stuck in BEC and applying 485 with a newer PERM case. If LC is stuck in BEC at this time, but the person has a new PERM+140 from a different location and applies 485. Can this person change the priority date of 485 when the old LC from BEC gets approved, and 140 approved, to the BEC PD?

mmm...didnt knew about this..After living and working here for ten years, i am still in-eligible for the tax rebate...phew!!!! (filed jointly, no SSN for my wife)..maybe i will claim it all next year....I am eternally optimistic :-)
I understand your point. How about we group everybody who won't be eligible for tax rebate this year and then write letters/fax to law makers, and others working in that area.
That should make our Highly skilled immigrant community visible. Newspaper editors are always in a look out for new articles. Why don't we make an article and give it to all our local newspaper editors.

I read in one of the Ron's post -CHc trying to stop even small immigration bills which has no amesty in it.So even the nurse recapture bill is at stake.
So ,I'm sorry -I beleive no one will even touch our case.Apply in EB2 port PD or get new PD either will be helpful .But seeing new backlog for I 140 its terrible.
I might apply for Canadian GC-Having kids here ,man they are adapted to this country living.That's the only thing bothering - kids future.
So this bill this year is at stake for sure.No one cares ...including change-what change there woudnt be any change in new party too.Its all drama going.I lost the trust.Its as if EB3 is not educated.
I'm just wondering-Will this problem be there if it were for ROW-or is it our color...that they dont want to aid.It's sure racism.
How many EB3 are there in total...Who asked them to flood the applications last year? :mad:
Its bloody hell out here.no wonder some people become saddist later half ...who woudnt when they are treated like this from begginning.
Now I have to hate myself applying in EB3.:rolleyes:
EB2 guys have been diverted from participating in any campaign now.so no bothering congressmen.
I have mailed to Senator Menendez -NJ thanking him for introducing the new bill and to do the needful.So far no news.

Thats right....and currently they have at most 400 for each category to give from July 2nd...and might have already used them for adjudicating old PD's. So, only couple of hundred first comers on July 2nd may benefit if processed based on RD and after that...its a big messy backlog center. They will processed based on PD ONLY.

Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.
Does anyone know such a bootlicker getting EB1c based GC? I wonder what a smart aleck that guy must been. There was a piece on NYT about India's penchant with lines and cutting lines by the uppity mongers..:D

It's hard to believe that folks dont know anything about the Green-Card process when they come in. Let us say that you are right on, but they would have eventually figured it out by the end of couple years. I believe it is the situations like layoffs, move from one company to other for better prospects and salary will make them to enter the process late. It is their personal choice and I don't question that. But I believe they had options to apply for GC early in the process and they did not. So why penalize others who did before them. Please don't think Iam saying this because I entered late. I came during early 1998 and I did wait for 4 years to apply.
It is not about being lethargic, it is about company policies and options available to employees.Many times the Labour applications are delayed by the companies on the pretext of impending layoffs or on the fact that there was no written offer on processing GC at the time of employment offer.IN many cases this happens inspite of verbal assurances at the time of employement offer. IV has had its first big success this year and we should all be proud of what we can all do. We worked hard and left no stone unturned to get this relief for our members. During the last few days there has been some movement on the National Defense Authorization Act and work on DREAM and SKIL provisions. While we were fully focused on the 485 relief, we did not lose sight of the developments. We have built a positive momentum and have been getting positive signals from key lawmakers. It is now upto us how we can seize the opportunity and focus on the lobbying efforts on legislative front. After seeing the overwhelming support of our members we are also encouraged to move ahead with full steam and explore the possibility of our provisions in the upcoming legislative activities. We also need to explore any other future movement on legislative front. Please join us in this struggle by signing up for $50 or more per month recurring contributions. This minimum amount is important for us to accomplish the kind of results we all desire. The failure of CIR and the political climate against immigration are making the task difficult but not impossible.

Last week I went to Trenton with H1 extension receipt (original), letter from employer, but in vain. They need approved docs. Luckily this week I got the H1 extended and today I carried the original approved H1 I-797A and got the DL extended. I got only 2 years H1/DL extension after 6 year completion with I-140 approved and 485 in progress. Fyi
Why 2 years and not 3 years when USCIS regulations allow for 3 year extension if I 140 is approved and PD is not current? Did you specifically request 2 years?

Please stop this EB3 vs EB2 nonsense :mad:. Let us work on something all of us can agree on a) VISA recapture b) STEM exemption c) Streamlining of USCIS processing etc. Let us not open the old wounds again. We are becoming a laughing stock with this constant bickering.
