Mine is filed on May 14th at Atlanta :-(. My employer told me that off late it's taking anywhere between 90 to 120 days.
But I hope I can beat this time after 5 long years. :-)

Hi ,
We applied I-485 in july and still waiting for receipt number. Also My wifes H4 visa expires on July 30 and her I-539 is pending. Can we use GC pending status to get driving license by showing the EAC receipt number ???

Hi my son is going to turn 21 on June 6th, we had applied for EB3 labor certificate on in July and the priority date is july 19, 2005. The I-140 was applied and approved in a month, therefore he will turn 21 next month on the 6th because the subtraction of one month from his age due to delay by USCIS in processing the I-140. My question is that is there any sort of help for EB retrogression for the children affected, and may get aged-out. As well as any other way that my son can apply for his I-485.

I think what AILA, our core group and other attorneys are trying to say is that as long as you filed before May 15, 2007 you will be fine regardless of whether your petition is pending or approved. There is no dispute about this point. Any applications that were filed after May 15, 2007 will become null and void the day this bill is signed by the president to make it a law. The 'effective date' ( Oct 1, 2008 ) does not apply for applications filed after May 15, 2007. I will be glad if you can prove me wrong :)

Just an update from my side:
I have just talked local Congresswoman's Office and I have talked to a staff member for 1 hour and she is helping me. She is going to call NSC and get to the root cause of this problem.
Guys,
If you are reading this, do not lose hope. We have to try every avenue and knock every door that is open.
That is the attitude, my brother.
Good luck with the MTR, it is sickening to see such blatant errors on their part.
I'm sure the eventual outcome will be in your favor, and it is good to see that you are still in good spirits.

I support the donor idea. But there is no transperency to who is leading what initative. If i want to contribute my time, i have to read through the posts every day for several hours to find who is leading the effort so i can discuss with them. Sometimes i feel there is so much more talk.
Why don't we list out the initiatives that is being considered or worked on. Along with some contact information so people can discuss offline with them. I cannot be online for several hours and read through all the discussions and still not find out who is coordinating the efforts.
I support the donor idea. But there is no transperency to who is leading what initative. If i want to contribute my time, i have to read through the posts every day for several hours to find who is leading the effort so i can discuss with them. Sometimes i feel there is so much more talk.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday at 7pm PST. The tasks for our next meeting are as follows:
1) Complete the excel sheet (instructions are included).
2) Brainstorm about possible locations where we can put up a booth to register new members � someone had proposed contacting student body at UCI, we can discuss this.
3) Take a look at the IV power point presentation and propose how we can tailor it to our needs. We need a presentation to show to our house reps when we visit them (This will be found on the resources page)

What is this Receipt date? Is it the date when your AOS petition reaches USCIS?
Receipt date is not the date when the application reaches the service center. It is infact the date when your application is entered into their internal system which could be several days after the application has reached the service center.

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
Yeah, tell me the same thing when all of us will wait for 6 or 7 years if they dont fix the system and continue to do security check on us. We know that we are NOT bad people. Its difficult to prove that in existing conditions. People are paranoid about every thing right now.

Think NSC needs to wake up about this AP delays. Lots of travel plans cancelled or moved to later dates to deal with this inordinate delays. Is it time for another flower campaign?
