This is what will help us to clear backlog ! Wanted to post it few days back when news came from UK they wanted to bring more immigrants as one of solution to get their economy back on track.
Guys, IF any thing may come as 'rescuer' this year and help us to come out from this backlog and move the dates forward in next year visa bulletins, that would be 'current economy and housing market situation'. IF any thing can convinced Congress to clear visa recapture bill this year, it would be only 'current housing market situation'. To get the economy back on track next year, housing market has to be improved and its not happening !

please guys just write as many as you can...as i pm'ed pappu...my piece was touchy feely, because i wanted it that way. He suggested some additions to add contributions of immigrants/details of retrogression but I declined cos i felt the touchy feeliness (so to speak) would be diluted.

I have been wanting to post this for the last few days and was happy to read this thread.........can we do something like an Immigrant's Boycott Day or something where we should do a mass boycott all over the country.....we need to coordinate this across the entire country and do a gandhi style protest.....but we need atleast maybe 1000 people per city to do it.....I am not sure how difficult it is to get that many people.....but that seems to be the only way to create an Impact.......WE HAVE TO MAKE OUR EMPLOYERS FEEL THE IMPACT OF NOT HAVING US FOREIGN WORKERS.....THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS EXPLOITATION........its like when all the mexican farmers stopped working on the strawberry farms.....there were no strawberries in the market....I am in the Detroit, MI area.... we need to come up with a list of big cities where we can get 1000 people per city.

Reddog is an agent of someone paid to view IV site and create anti-IV posts. He may very well be an anti-immigrant who is now worried that he may not get access to secret info of our efforts.

After reading the op-ed by Pankaj, I had the following questions: Has the SKIL bill already passed the Senate? I know it is included as part of CIR. But, what happens if CIR gets thrown out?
There are five possibilities, as far as I can think:
1. The House does absolutely nothing. CIR sits unenforced (it's not law until the House passes an identical bill). We continue to suffer. Highly unlikely, since there is a lot of pressure to do *something*.
2. The House passes SKIL by itself. In this case, the Senate will have to revote on SKIL by itself, and then SKIL would be a law by itself. CIR will be irrelevant. We will get what we want. Somewhat likely, if (3) or (4) doesn't happen.
3. The House and Senate conference to come up with a bill. SKIL is discarded in conference. The House and Senate will have to revote on the bill. CIR will be irrelevant. We will continue to suffer. I think this is somewhat unlikely. If there is a conference, big business with it's deep pockets will have its way. Big business supports SKIL.

These Govt. agencies are so efficient that they can even go through these forums and connect IDs here to applications. It is a piece of cake for them to find out the entire background of an applicant as soon as even the LC is filed. They very well know who is stuck with which employer in which state and what stage and to whom they are approving the GCs. If the employers are Americans, they can even call the DOL and ask them to hold the LC approval because they know that once their employees get their GCs they will quit them.
I am not trying to be negative and pessimistic, but please think about the chances of immigrants sueing these Govt. agencies during any of the stages in GC process and winning the lawsuit. And ofcourse, the immigration lawyers are too happy with the retrogressions and the way the immigration system works in this country.
