There are approximately 25,000 EB2 and 25,000 EB3 applicants currently
queued at the Department of State awaiting visa numbers.

There are currently approximately 25,000 EB2 India cases
which have been reviewed by USCIS and queued up at the Department of State
awaiting visa numbers for the "green cards" to be approved.

What does this mean? All the pending EB2 cases for visa numbers are from India?
Isn't it too ridiculous?

Our issues are real and affect about a million people patiently waiting in line for past several years. We are high-skilled immigrants who have followed all the rules and contribute significantly to the innovation and economy of this county. Our strength is our grassroots efforts, so let us all call our lawmakers and ask them to take immediate action on the immigration bill.

Call your Legislators:

Immigration Voice is organizing a nationwide call-the-lawmakers drive. We request members to call each and every senator and congress member. This drive will precede the �Advocacy Day(s)� in Washington, DC and �Meet the lawmaker� drive in local districts. Members can use this phone call conversation with their local lawmaker offices to follow-up with lawmakers when they meet during the break just after the Memorial day.

Don�t miss this opportunity:

This is the perfect time to call the lawmakers. The bill needs a push via support from people like us and all lawmakers needs to be encouraged and urged to help us. There are indications that there will be lot of activity on immigration issues in both House and Senate after the Memorial day. We need to make those activities go in our favor and not die like the CIR bill in 2006 & 2007. Thus it is important to starting calling lawmakers, starting from the Senate members. In order to capitalize on this opportunity, it is very important that everyone calls every lawmaker of this country. The similar next opportunity will be in 2013. We can participate now or we will all have ourselves to blame.

This campaign starts today at 4:00 PM EST on 29th April, 2010) (Today) and will run until the end of next week. All IV members are encouraged to make multiple phone calls whenever they find some time during the day.

- Supportive: Then thank the lawmaker office for it.

- If they oppose it: Then request them to support the high skilled green card provisions of the bill that will greatly help you. You sincerely hope that the lawmaker will reconsider his/her position and help you.

Answer "For last 10 years there has been no High-skilled immigration bill passed by the Congress. The world has changed in last 10 years. But I cannot do that if I don't have a green card.

I would sincerely request you to please convey to the Senator if he would consider supporting some version of the immigration

USCIS is a public office they are answerable to public, taxpayers like me and others(I'm not sure about you). There are many members who think IV and other members are fighting for re-reversal of VB or increase in visa number for 2007....

why dont they understand that we are fighting to avoid rejection, we are not asking them to re-revise bulletin, all we want is just accept the application without rejecting them, so that we can save ourselves from loosing money and time. dont make fun of IV and other members who's putting their efforts in it, no matter what the result is. if you dont want to participate please stop visiting this forum.

Thank you to all those who attended the first meeting! I am attaching the excel file for you to complete. I have included instructions in the file itself but let me know if you have questions. Please fill all the columns against your name.
Our next meeting will be on Thursday at 7pm PST. The tasks for our next meeting are as follows:
1) Complete the excel sheet (instructions are included).

2) Brainstorm about possible locations where we can put up a booth to register new members � someone had proposed contacting student body at UCI, we can discuss this.

3) Take a look at the IV power point presentation and propose how we can tailor it to our needs. We need a presentation to show to our house reps when we visit them (This will be found on the resources page)

4) Go through the IV template for business cards along with instructions to modify the template and to print the business cards. (this will be found on resources page)

We are 6th year H1B, but we only have a PD date of 27th July 2006.

My son turns 21 on 13th January 2008. We have an I-140 pending since August 30th 2006, which is probably a good thing because I understand that it will help to "extend" my son's time, provided it is not denied. There is no valid reason why it should be, and we have not taken up Premium Processing for that very reason.

However, with this July Visa Bulletin fiasco, who knows how long it will be before our PD date will come up again (EB-3 ROW) and we can file the I-485

Thus, I am really interested in the outcome of your case and the CSPA draft you have come up with. I have registered with Expat's Voice, as per your request.

IV members have saved you a lot of money on attorney phone calls, getting answers to medical test questions and other general questions. Please contribute to IV so that we can keep this effort going. While everybody is busy collecting documents and paperwork for 485, core IV again is doing there personal paperwork and + lobbying.
Please contribute, especially if you are new and never contributed. Please do not be a freeloader and get your questions answered and run away.

I faced a similar response when I called Senator Scott Brown's office. His staff member categorically stated that he is against amnesty, but is 'sympathetic' to the cause of legal immigrants. I explained that as members of IV, we are working towards legal immigration reform since the process is stagnant (without trying to diss illegal immigrants). Its an awkward situation trying to separate the two...but I think we really need to.
However, my greatest fear is that even though legal immigration reform may garner bi-partisan support, who in Congress will take it up on its own if CIR gets shot down?? Legal immigrants are in much smaller numbers than illegal ones..and will anybody take up our cause without the other?

This is specifically for those people who have never contributed but feel like contributing but for some reason hesitate to pull the trigger. For all such people who start a monthly contribution of $50 and promise (not to me or anyone else but themselves) to keep contributing for at least the next 6 months, I am going to make a one-time contribution of $50 for every such person. I have a modest upper limit, which I will disclose after the first 10 new contributors.

So people, Sept 18th is approaching fast and IV needs your contribution. Now is the time.

The only requirement is that the member has never contributed before and starts a $50 dollar recurring contribution. For every two new contributors I will make a $100 one-time contribution. Moderators may verify my contribution.

This is great thinking and wonderful initiative. It is a lesson how we all can be creative and help others motivate. It reminds of a story. There were two teams US and Japanese. They each were divided into two groups each and made to stand facing each other. There was a imaginary line drawn and the goal of each team is to convince their team members on the other side of the line to cross over. US Team were never able to convince their team members to cross over and move to other side.
Japanese simply said to their team members on other side.. If you cross over we will also cross over.. and they won. As simple as it may sound here is a classic example shown by Milind. You rock Milind.
And you make me feel proud in being associated with you in this struggle for our cause.
I am also in the drive for funds with my indifferent colleagues. See you in DC.

My wife works in a company where a good number of IT folks are staffed by INFY. The poor quality of work made the company think about not extending INFY's contract. But then it came out in the open that there was no documentation on how the applications were built, etc. INFY got wind of this, and now they have positioned themselves in the organization where without them, this company's IT would collapse.

There are many such stories of outsourcing firms that are holding client companies hostage. Though I do not agree with the bill, I think the bill brings back some ethics into play. Especially the L1 loophole.

I squarely blame it on the company for not requiring INFY to document everything. There is such a thing as process or quality control. They have painted themselves into a corner. Having said that, companies will take advantage of this situation. Its just plain business...
